about me
Hello! I'm Maddie, I'm 18 years old and I'm from France. For me, life is a big creative project where almost everything can be done with your own hands. I love to feel the material: how the clay gives in to my fingers, how the fabric fits into folds, how the paint spreads across the canvas. I am a creative person to the tips of my fingers - and this is my joy. I try to remain kind and positive: it seems to me that even the gloomiest day can be brightened up if you pick up a brush or start sewing something cozy.
There is so much inspiration in Paris: ancient facades, shop windows of small workshops, street musicians... I love wandering around the city and noticing details that then turn into ideas. For me, creating means feeling alive, and sharing the result means giving a piece of myself.
my dreams
I dream of opening my own small workshop, where there will be shelves with jars of paints, spools of thread and racks with clay. I want to organize master classes there for everyone who wants to create, but is afraid to start. I dream of creating a collection of textiles with patterns inspired by French villages - so that there is a story in every stitch. I also want to take part in a crafts fair one day and see how people pick up your things and smile. And, of course, I dream of going to Italy to look at ancient pottery workshops and learn their secrets.
what is creativity for me
For me, creativity is not about perfect lines and perfect stitches. It's about the courage to leave your mark, even if it's not perfect. Sometimes I look at my work and see the rough edges, but that's what makes it real. It seems to me that in every imperfection the soul of a master is hidden. Creativity is a way to speak without words: through color, texture, shape. It teaches patience: clay will not become a cup in a minute, the drawing will not come to life from the first stroke. And creativity is also freedom. Freedom to make mistakes, try again, change direction. I believe that every person is a creator in their own way, it’s just that not everyone has found their material yet. My goal is to not be afraid to get my hands dirty and keep looking for what makes the heart beat faster.
my hobbies
I love sculpting from clay - I love this primitive magic: a cup or figurine is born from a shapeless piece. I also sew and knit: I make scarves, blankets, and sometimes I come up with my own patterns. I paint with watercolors, but not for the sake of perfection, but to capture the mood of the day. I collect herbariums and make postcards or bookmarks from them - I love it when a piece of nature lives in things. I also experiment with decoupage and wood painting: old things take on new life, and this incredibly warms the soul.
my wishlist
I want a set of professional quality watercolor paints - so the colors are deeper and brighter. There is also a pottery wheel for the home on the list: I dream of learning how to work on it and making dishes with my own hands. I really want a vintage sewing machine - not only for the sake of work, but also for its beauty. I also dream of a wooden box for storing materials: with compartments for threads, buttons, brushes - so that everything is in its place and pleasing to the eye. And, of course, a book about folk crafts - to draw inspiration from traditions.
